Welcome to Quantum Orange County
Quantum OC is intended to be a project of the QOISC.
The QOISC (formerly the OISC) has been associated with the OSSC since it's inception in 2003 and has been at the forefront of the Orange County's Optics Education & Public Outreach and Workforce Development programs.
As described on the Quantum California webpage, there is a state wide effort, known as Quantum California, a Southern California Quantum Alliance and now most recently a Quantum City Irvine program. Quantum OC will fill the gap and focus on quantum awareness and projects mainly within the boarders of Orange County.
On May 18-19, 2026 there will be a meeting at UC San Diego called 'Quantum San Diego Convening' hosted by the Qualcomm Institute and Quantum California.

A general Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) will be drafted to guide the relationships between QOC and other OC entities that wish to collaborate with QOC. In general this MOU will have:
1. Purpose
The purpose of these MOUs will be to establish non-binding frameworks for collaboration between Quantum OC and Partners to briefly state shared objectives like: advance quantum technology education, workforce development, research partnerships, community outreach, and joint events in Orange County and surrounding communities.
2. Scope of Collaboration
Joint Activities: The Parties agree to cooperate on the following activities
-
Develop and deliver educational programs and workshops on quantum science and technology.
-
Organize public events, seminars, and networking sessions to connect industry, academia, and government.
-
Support workforce development and internship opportunities for local students.
-
Share relevant resources, facilities, curriculum materials, and subject-matter expertise.
