The text below the line was our original thoughts about establishing a Quantum California Consortium. However, not much was done except for talking about this concept, until the State of California passed Assembly Bill-940 Economic development: industry strategies. into law in October 2025.
I attended the Quantum California Convening | Gather, organized by California Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development (GO-Biz) - High Tech
The belief is that this will help potential collaborators in California to establish a Quantum Ecosystem here. We will see where this leads. Please contact Donn directly if you have any questions.
The Southern California Quantum Alliance was launched in February 2026.
note: the literal bottom line of AB-940 is: (3) The office shall develop the industry strategy for quantum technology with engagement from key stakeholders in the regions that have identified quantum technology as a priority.
And on World Quantum Day, April 14, 2026, Quantum City Irvine was launched.

Quantum California is a new consortium being established under the QOISC banner to bring together many California based quantum companies, colleges, universities, and government agencies to promote all things quantum in California and beyond.
What can Quantum California do for its partners?

Collect and publish regularly the future meetings, seminars, workshops, events, etc. of each of the partners. Become the ‘connective tissue’ of the California Quantum Ecosystem.

Establish, hold and maintain statewide meetings, seminars, workshops, events for the benefit of the partners and other interested parties.

Develop an educational pipeline from Q-12 through Community Colleges to Universities and Industry.

Develop pathways for Apprenticeships, Internships and Mentorships.

Initiate a physical Quantum Network to connect the partners so they can research the various technologies and educate people about the progress.
