Visiting the USS Nimitz - Oct. 16-17, 2012

Donn was invited to visit the USS Nimitz as part of a special program to bring Distinguished Visitors (educators) onboard to experience a small bit of life on an aircraft carrier.  The goal was for these educators to bring some of their experiences back to the students to encourage them to consider the military as a career choice and support the Navy's missions in many ways.

Donn's Grandfather was US Navy Commander Henry Silberman, M.D. who served on the USS Iowa during WWII.

Donn's Father was Col. Irwin A. Silberman, M.D. who severed for over 20 years in the Air Force, including as a Flight Surgeon to Vietnam while stationed in Japan.   Col. Silberman was interned at Arlington National Cemetary on March 18, 2019
